Our contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions and enhancing regionality
Sustainability at Cresta
Mountains, forests, lakes, and rivers define the landscape around Oberlech. That’s why we focus on three key areas: our CO₂ emissions, our heating supply, and promoting regional products. Here’s what we are specifically implementing:
CO2 Consumption
What We Do
- In 1995, the Oberlech tunnel system was constructed and financed from our own funds. Since then, it has eliminated part of the motorised delivery traffic in the village area: "our major contribution to reducing CO2".

- Since November 2009, we have been heating with biomass district heating: within just 12 weeks of construction, the people of Oberlech invested €4.5 million on their own initiative in a biomass district heating plant.

- Through heat recovery, we save up to 3.5 tonnes of CO annually.

Local Focus & Recycling
What We Do
- We prioritise local sourcing: [add specific examples, e.g. "Our breakfast bread comes from Bakery X in Lech, our vegetables from Y" or percentage of regional products]
- Thanks to a special dosing and one-way system, we reduce the use of detergents and cleaning agents.
- Our straws at the bar and restaurant are made of paper.
- Our pens are made from recycled plastic.
- The packaging of our hotel cosmetics is recyclable.
